Reading a star wars novel

Many star wars fans are skeptical to the expanded universe. I won't blame them, because I was that as well. I didn't really understand how they could write down star wars on a piece of paper and make it feel like star wars. It wasn't really before i learned that disney would make a new trilogy that i really got my eyes up for the expanded universe.

I started to listen to the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn. It consists of three books: "Heir to the empire", "Dark force rising" and "The last command". This is by most EU fans considered as the sequel trilogy that never made it to the screen. It is written in a beatiful and artistic way I didn't know was possible, and the audiobook is read to you by Mark Thompson. He does a fantastic job with every single character! Especially the famous Chiss Grand Admiral Thrawn. I'll post a link to the first part of Heir to the empire.

Hope you find this enjoyable and my next post will be the first character post! This will be about one very important person in these novels. Until then, may the force be with you.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

STAR WARS

Movies, books, comic books, and eNovels! Star wars can be found anywhere. Why do i love star wars? I honestly don't know. I was in love two minutes into "a new hope". The spaceships, the planets, the people, the mythology and the conflicts. it was never a question about "why are we doing this?", but "we have to do this!". That is probably one of the main reasons. It was an adventure. In space!

First time I ever heard about star wars was christmas eve 1997. I was 3 years old, and my father gave me the landspeeder Luke drives in "a new hope". I thought it was really cool, and for my birthday three weeks later i got the snowspeeder, and a darth vader lego figure. But it was that summer I really experienced star wars for the first time. When I saw darth vader enter the rebel ship I really was breathtaken. I shouted to my grandfather "that's Darth Vader" and he would smile and we watched the rest of the movie. That night changed my life.

I really hope you guys find this blog interesting. This was just a small introduction about star wars and an attempt to present the things I will blog about: the movies, characers in the movies, plot twists, the EU-novels (if i have read them) the games and so on. Would really appreciate if you would follow me on this epic sojourn in one of the most fantastic fantasy universes ever created!

Untill nex time, may the force be with you.
